  • Gorilla at Evengue.  Several Gorillas who have permanent diseases or cannot be reintegrated are kept in a large enclosure here (with goals to expand the enclosure).  Another set of young orphan gorillas (parents poached) is kept separately and they go out into the forest during the day.  The goal there is to eventually reintegrate them to the forest.

  • Mabeke, the silverback (dominant male).  He lived over 20 years in a research lab since when he was orphaned that was the only option for orphans.
