Portraits of Molly

My sister-in-law was nice enough to pose for some portraits so I could play with all of the random gear I have. Most of these shots have a three light setup with a key light into a softbox camera right and a fill light camera left, with a 10 degree gridded hair light on a boom above and behind facing towards the camera. No light was deliberately cast onto the background.

In the second set of images, Molly is outside in afternoon direct light. The sun is to her right and she is holding a "sunlight" surface 36" reflector to her left.

  • It is hard to get the shadows right, but I managed to avoid bad reflections. An additional light or foam core board reflector might have solved the frame shadow problem, or I could have moved the fill light.

  • Finally a bit of fun with the unique light from a ring flash. Lit by the ABR800 ringflash with moon unit modifier and gridded AB800 hair light from above and behind.
